Your voice matters.
Help shape your future.
FOCUS is an international study exploring the well-being of youth under 30 living in France & Canada in the context of the pandemic. We aim to provide a youth perspective through research to inform social, economic, and health policy responses. Together, our voices can be heard!
18-29 year olds
If you are aged 18 - 29 years old and living in France or Canada, you can participate in our annual survey. You may be above 29 years-old if you completed a previous survey.
Complete the ~15 min confidential survey online. You can choose to participate each year, or just one time. Enter to win 1 of 3 $100 cash prizes!
Your responses are confidential and anonymous. They will be deidentified and combined with other participants’ answers to produce new knowledge about youth.
What to expect
To better understand how the pandemic affects young adults, we designed the survey in collaboration with youth to ask questions about the following topics. You can skip any questions you do not feel comfortable answering.
It is important to understand patterns in survey responses to identify which sub-groups need the most support. We ask you questions about yourself, your environment, your education and career, and some of your perspectives and opinions.
As public health researchers, we want to inform health care systems and services. To do this, we will ask about your mental health, sexual health, and substance use, to learn more about factors that help or hinder well-being. Additionally, we want to know your personal views about COVID-19 policies and public health measures.
Social relationships, financial stability, and access to services are key determinants of health. To better understand how the pandemic has positively and negatively shaped these factors in your life, we will ask questions about your relationships, economic position, and access to health and social services.

It was great to have a survey that has highlighted and recognized some of the issues I have been having through the pandemic. I felt by doing this there was recognition for young people like me who have been struggling with life through the pandemic.
